Guilder is a cafe and roastery in the Alameda-Irvington neighborhood of NE Portland (24th/Fremont). We roast and serve our own coffee, Junior’s Roasted Coffee, as well as food, wine, beer and cocktails. Serving the neighborhood since April 2017, we are committed to applying our experience in the hospitality and speciality coffee industries in a kind, welcoming, and inclusive environment. We’re seeking members to join our team who are excited about being involved in a growing endeavor and being apart of not only a special place for our neighbors and guests to enjoy excellent coffee and service experience, but a community in which to grow and thrive as people and influence positive changes in the industry.

Cook

Your duties will include but are not limited to: Learning, understanding, and executing recipes/menus, Food prep, Cooking, and Assembling of plates, Expediting food, Ensuring proper food-handling procedures, Maintaining exceptional sanitation and cleanliness in kitchen, and Dishwashing. please view the current Menu here.

Candidates should have at least 1-2 years culinary experience and a valid Oregon Food Handlers card. Ideal candidates will possess an exceptional work ethic, great communication, customer service, attention to detail, self-awareness, a sense of urgency, the ability to multi-task and work efficiently independently as well as with the entire team. we’re seeking a candidate with a willingness to learn & contribute to a healthy team environment. hours are 30/hrs a week. must be available to work weeknights and one weekend night 3-8pm, and two weekdays 7:30am-3:30pm. compensation starts above minimum wage & increases based on experience. Tips are pooled with the entire staff and PTO is available after 90 days. It is a no-drama, friendly and supportive work environment.
